VC Environments

Crucial to the success of a video conferencing environment is the shape and design of the table, and the location of each participant in the room.

In our experience this is at least as important as selecting the best technology. Of vital importance is the shape of the tables involved.

Video conferencing meetings can include any number from 2 to 15 people at each end of the meeting.  For each individual to be clearly visible to the cameras, and conversely to have an uninterrupted view of the screens, requires careful planning. The consideration of ergonomics of the table is essential to meet this vital necessity.

Telepresence refers to a set of technologies that allow people to feel they are present or to give the appearance of being present, in a meeting with remote participants. Telepresence requires that the users  have the feeling of being in another location. The difference to video conferencing is that telepresence systems may need to handle up to 30 or more people at each end.

Again, table shape and design is critical with telepresence systems, as they employ multiple cameras and screens.
